KHAN BAHADUR AHMED ALLAUDDIN

Khan Bahadur Ahmed Allauddin was horn in Secunderahad in the year 1895. H is mother died while he was an infant and he was brought up by his step-mother. He did not have the benefit of higher education hut he was trained in the family business by his father. Commencing business in a small way he built up the house of Allauddin and Sons.

He was a self- made man. Even as a young businessman Nawab Saheb showed great initiative. By dint of hard work he became one of the leading and successful businessmen in the city. He was a prominent public worker and a philanthropist. In 1930 he donated Rs. I lakh and started a trust known as Allauddin Educational Endowment Trust for deserving and poor students. Later he donated Rs. 15 lakh to construct Mecca Madina Allauddin Wakf building in the old city. The proceeds from the rent of the building go towards scholarships for students and amelioration of the condition of the weaker sections of society.

Nawab Saheb was responsible for setting up several large industrial ventures in the State including AlIwyn, Hyderabad Asbestos Cement Products, Bakelite Hylam etc. He was a director on the boards of more than 20 companies. He was the Chairman of the Municipal Corporation of Secunderabad for seā€™eral terms and was also the President of Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce. Nawab Saheb died in December, 1955.
